Fit-Out Design Manager (m/f/d)

NTT GDC has an exciting opportunity for a Fit-Out Design Manager (m/f/d).

As a Fit-Out Design Manager (m/f/d), you will be responsible for defining a high-quality, accurate, and tenderable scope of works for each fit-out and in-life project. For successful projects, you will support the project teams through the design phase, acting as the technical focal point during delivery. This position can be based in London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, or Berlin and will involve working on various upgrade and fit-out projects across the region.

This is a full time hybrid permanent position.

What you will do

• Take conceptual requirements from the client and produce an end to end scope of work that is tenderable covering any site / base build modifications required including any commissioning or documentation outputs as well as the client specifics
• Lead the technical review ensuring input and sign off from other stakeholder teams including but not limited to local operations and central engineering
• Drive and Manage external parties supporting the volume of requests ensuring performance goals and outputs are met specifically around quality, accuracy and timeline KPI’s
• Drive the end to end design delivery process for Fit Out and in life projects starting from brief definition to appointment, management and review of external vendors that carry out design work for projects
• Undertake site surveys as necessary across EMEA to establish the feasibility of design proposals
• Undertake design reviews to ensure compliance with company design standards, local code requirements and the project brief
• Be accountable for reviewing and approving any Technical Submittals relevant for each project
• Ensure any known Health & Safety risks and concerns are documented and considered as part of the design delivery
• Assess, mitigate, and manage risks connected with design to reduce/eliminate residual project risks and resolve design related issues
• Develop, own, maintain and improve the Fit Out Suite reference design to support a standardized consistent approach to Client Fit Out design

What we are looking for 

• University Degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Engineering or equivalent
• Demonstratable experience in design of mission critical or similar critical M&E led industries (Pharmaceutical, Hospitals, Oil.& Gas, Energy)
• Experience working within multi-disciplinary design teams, preferably in a leading role
• Experience in design consultant/client engineer/site engineer/contractor engineer roles
• Experience in whitespace fit outs, particularly on the solutioning and design aspects
• International experience and outlook both in type of company (multi-national Consultant/ Contractor/Operator) and project experience (have worked on projects outside home country, ideally have lived outside home country for a period)
• Good written and oral communication skills in English. German language skills would be beneficial
