Regional Operations Director (m/f/d)

As the Regional Operations Director (m/f/d), you will spearhead leadership and management for regional Data Center Operations. As the pioneering NTT Global Data Centers Operations representative in the region, you will take charge by establishing and leading the DC operations team and collaborate closely with NTT’s Design & Construction teams to ensure a seamless transition from construction to operations. Your role demands a thorough understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements within the region and country, ensuring full compliance at all times.

 

This role is particularly exciting as it involves overseeing a Greenfield Data Center in a new strategic region for NTT Global Data Centers. Paris is a brand new operating region for NTT, and we are building a large Data Center campus as our first entry into the market. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our operations in this key location.

 

The role will be based in Paris at our site in Le Coudray-Montceaux, with some travel locally and across EMEA.

What you will do

  • Working closely with Human Resources to establishing a new site operations team aligned to NTT’s standard staffing model
  • Operational Readiness ramp-up of the new campus
  • Respresent NTT in working with local councils, municiplaties and residents of the local community
  • Work closely with NTT’s Design & Construction teams to ensure a successful handover of the site from construction to operations
  • Ensuring sites are compliant in terms of maintenance, including record keeping, on all critical and non critical assets, in line with NTT's scope of service
  • Takes all necessary measures to ensure that the customer SLA’s are met at all times (The goal is 100% service availability and zero downtime for all DC buildings in the region)
  • Provide mentoring and leadership to the staff within the region by fostering a culture of passion and commitment for reliability and customer service
  • Ensure compliance against operational processes such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs) and safety systems
  • Ensure the operational site teams are trained and follow NTT's defined processes, procedures and ways of working for example but not limited to Change Management, Incident Management, Business Continuity Management, Electrical and Mechanical Safety Rules, Maintenance management, supplier management etc
  • Maintain relationships with key customers, authorities and vendors within the region
  • Ensure the highest levels of satisfaction, including by attending periodic business review meetings
  • Manage a substantial budget by working closely with each DC Site Manager
     

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business administration or real estate or equivalent qualification with minimum of 10 years’ experience in strategic planning, business management, corporate leadership, and decision-making in an international and growing technical corporate environment
  • Excellent understanding of the complexity of data centers with demonstrable management experience
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the operation of Data Center infrastructure: both M&E and related security facilities
  • Experience in leading within critical service environments
  • Proven track record of setting up and managing cross-cultural and cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, technical management, and collaboration
  • Outstanding relationship-builder and communicator, both internally and externally
  • Ability to work in multinational, interdisciplinary and culturally diverse teams.
  • Passion for start-up and ramp up environments
  • Fluent in English and French, with excellent written and oral communication skills, along with strong quantitative analytic skills in both languages
