Data Center Services Technician (remote-hands)

As our Data Center Services Technician you will be part of our growing team where you will provide on-site technical assistance for tasks such as equipment installation/removal, IT hardware troubleshooting, visual checks, and cross connect installation / removal. You will also handle logistical support and take responsibility for administrative tasks for specific data centre locations. In this role, you will support both internal and external stakeholders (clients) to ensure business continuity and operational excellence.

 

What you will do

  • Install, configure, remove and dispose of IT-Hardware.
  • Preform IT troubleshooting and resolve client issues.
  • Install, remove, and test IT cabling.
  • Conduct visual checks and IT hardware audits.
  • Maintain physical security and data integrity.
  • Facilitate shipments and relocations with the data centre.
  • Respond to service requests (Ticket System) and follow run books.
  • Support administrative tasks and continual service improvement.

 

What we are looking for 

  • Degree in IT or related field or relevant experience
  • Understanding of critical infrastructure (mechanical/electrical), preferably data centres would be an advantage
  • Experience with remote hands requests and IT troubleshooting
  • Proficient in following runbooks and installing/testing IT cabling (i.a. cross-connects)
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Strong client focus and effective communication skills
  • Quick learner with logical approach to problem solving
  • Adaptable to high-pressure situations and 24/7 environments
  • Drivers license and to commute in between data centre locations
  • To undergo full security checks to BS7858:2019 and SC+NPPV3
