Principal Engineer IT DC Infrastructure (m/f/d)

As our Principal Engineer IT DC Infrastructure (m/f/d), you will ensure that IT delivers standardized systems and platforms for a stable, secure and efficient infrastructure for the Data Centers and other buildings. You shall define those standards for the IT infrastructure in alignment with all relevant stakeholders including Security Management, Design & Engineering, Construction and Data Center Delivery and you shall ensure compliance that these standards for both new buildings and retrofits are implemented.

The role will be based in Frankfurt, is full time and hybrid.

What you will do

• Definition of IT standards for the areas of network, racks, cabling and construction requirements
• Responsibility for the implementation according to the standard
• Performing on site control of construction sites in all relevant phases
• Responsibility for the management of purchasing as well as external suppliers
• Responsibility for adherence to schedules, especially timely ordering, and delivery
• Reporting of status, projects, issues etc. to IT and Executive Management
• Further development of the existing IT architecture
• Acting coordinating interface especially but not limited to the named departments in Purpose above
• Consult the business in the respective IT areas to identify best IT solutions to enhance business capabilities
• Management of group internal and external IT service providers and specialist groups
• Continuous improvement of existing processes and input in the definition of new processes
• Acting Project Manager within own area for bigger projects
• Strong collaboration with Procurement Team to identify cost efficiency opportunities

What we are looking for

• Completed vocational training with a focus on computer science or equivalent work experience
• 7 or more years of professional experience in the area of network and DC infrastructure or equivalent
• Excellent German and English language skills verbal and writing
• Very good knowledge and working experiences in network and DC infrastructure
• Ability to quickly tap into and master new areas of responsibility
• Enforcement and persuasiveness
• High commitment and willingness to travel (<60%)
• Integrative and independent work style, self-motivation, and team spirit
• Excellent Communication and presentation skills
• Strategic thinking individual with a structured and target-oriented approach
