Energy Efficiency Specialist (m/f/d)

As our Energy Efficiency Specialist, you will be directly supporting site teams to identify onsite energy efficiency opportunities and manage / implement energy efficiency opportunities to deliver the targeted savings across the EMEA region with a particular focus on cooling systems to improve performance of buildings chilled water system and associated equipment including pumps, heat exchangers and controls.  You will work closely with EMEA Mechanical Engineering and BMS/MSR teams on operational standards and roll out of portfolio wide efficiency initiatives, drive consistency in implementation of standards and site equipment operation for its most efficient operation across the EMEA region. Your focus is on our HVAC systems.

 

Your Responsibilities

  • Visit sites and nurture relationships with all site teams to enable ongoing support in the identification and delivery of energy reduction opportunities
  • Proactive assessment of existing cooling systems operational practices, equipment settings and controls to ensure they are operating at peak efficiency and maximising free cooling operation where available
  • Management and implementation of central team energy reduction initiatives with all site teams and contractors as required
  • Work with OEM’s to ensure cooling systems are operating at peak efficiency and within specification
  • Point of contact for cooling system efficiency matters in the Energy Efficiency team
  • Produce business cases and funding requests for energy reduction opportunities
  • Be the conduit between the central team and site teams for updates to the programme, processes, tools and training
  • Maintain and update energy opportunity tracking reports
  • Support the annual capital planning process 
  • Support the business in the delivery of its energy efficiency programme and sustainability targets
     

Your Profile

  • Extensive experience of cooling systems and associated equipment and controls – data center sector experience desirable
  • Experience of managing and delivering energy reduction projects or activities
  • Experience of energy site audits / assessments 
  • Experience of verification and validation of delivered savings – IPMVP experience desirable
  • Engineering background and experience - energy management experience desirable
  • Experience of working in mission critical environment within a large company, IT/Telecoms industry preferred
  • Experience of working in a European multi-cultural environment
  • Proficient in English and German languages – both written and verbal
  • Ability to work in multinational, interdisciplinary and culturally diverse teams with colleagues at all levels of seniority and technical skills
  • Eagerness to learn, develop, share experience and make a difference
