Senior Electrical Engineer - EMEA (m/f/d)

The Senior Electrical Engineer - EMEA (m/f/d) will lead regional engineering teams in the construction, testing, commissioning, management and operation of their Electrical and Cooling infrastructures. They will provide consistent regular reporting of the condition and efficiency of the countries Electrical and Cooling systems, identifying any areas for improvement.

 

What you will do

  • General Duties: Lead the EMEA team in defining and implementing the NTT GDC EMEA Tech-Ops standards and will ensure that the Electrical infrastructures are effectively tested, commissioned, maintained, and optimised
  • Reporting: Schedule regular face to face meetings with the regional team to discuss operational performance of Electrical infrastructure, to address any infrastructure issues and concerns relating to plant condition and operational activities and report accordingly
  • New Build & Infrastructure Projects: In conjunction with our Technical Operations team, regularly review and develop commissioning procedures. Hold post-handover project lessons learnt meetings and share findings within NTT GDC EMEA Technical Operationans team
  • Team Training and awareness: In conjunction with the EMEA Training Manager and the NTT GDC EMEA Technical Operations team, instruct other personnel in the operation of Electrical and Cooling infrastructure and address any gaps in the knowledge of operation by personnel or of any deficiencies or abnormalities in the operating procedures. Implement with appropriate Scenario training throughout the region
  • Energy Efficiency: Ensure Electrical and Cooling systems are efficiently optimised to meet expected performance requirements and support the regional team in creating energy business cases for infrastructure change
  • Audit: Carry out regular tours of the regional facilities to inspect local conformance to NTT GDC EMEA standards and ensure Electrical and Cooling infrastructure is being kept in a satisfactory and optimised condition. Attend any internal or external quality related audits as SME
  • Planning: Develop realistic plans, set goals, align plans with NTT GDC EMEA Tech-Ops objectives and coordinates with others team members 
  • Problem solving: Have the ability to breaks down problems into smaller components, understands underlying issues, can simplify, and process complex issues and escalate when required with strong input
  • Managing performance: Apply clear/consistent performance standards to handle performance problems decisively and objectively and communicate in a manner that is direct but tactful and aids in improving performance

 

What we are looking for

  • Extensive years’ experience working in mission critical Electrical environment within a large company, IT/Telecoms industry preferred or M&E consultancy 
  • Several years’ experience in leading a technical management function 
  • Experience in data centres or a similar environment is considered a significant advantage though not essential this will be a key consideration should multiple candidates be assessed for suitability
  • HV AE for EMEA 
  • Subject matter experts understanding of operational and maintenance governance principles
  • Experience of working in a European multi-cultural environment
  • Working Knowledge of Plan Do Check Act (Deming cycle) highly desirable
  • Awareness of Root Cause Analysis management frameworks highly desirable
  • Recognised European Health and Safety Qualification highly desirable
  • Proficient in English language both written and verbal. Second European language written and verbal desirable
  • A maintenance excellence and zero-downtime mentality
  • Outstanding relationship-builder and communicator, both internally and externally
  • For the UK: To undergo full security checks to BS7858:2019
