Mechanical Engineer
We are expanding our team in the UK with one further Mechanical Engineer (HVAC). You will be part of our Central engineering team of NTT Global Data Centers EMEA. In your responsibility is having oversight of our mechanical vendors (HVAC) and ensuring deliverables SLAs are achieved. Our data centre sites you will be supporting will be in Greater London as well as currently in Madrid and Amsterdam. You will be reporting to the Technical Services Manager and your office location will be located in Hemel Hempstead (150 Maylands Avenue, Hemel Hempstead Industrial Estate, Hertfordshire).
Your responsibilities
- Oversight of mechanical vendors HVAC delivery and ensuring that all and any statutory and contractual deliverables are achieved within SLA
- Responsible for authoring and the oversight of mechanical MOP/SOP/EOP regardless of source
- Consistently deliver clear and concise briefing of technical issues to non/less technical colleagues and customers
- Obtain an in-depth technical knowledge of each facility covering mechanical and control systems within a reasonable period
- Function as a mechanical competent person (CP)
- Prepared to attend Mechanical Boiler and Pressure AP course, medic first aid training, and be an Authorised Person (AP)
- Technical oversight (support as required) on all mechanical works and projects (In-Life and Fit-Out) and provide expertise
- Assisting with commissioning and witnessing of existing infrastructure upgrades and enhancements (this will also include new facilities)
- Participate in / support in-house training to operational colleagues to increase awareness and competencies in respect of mechanical/HVAC systems
Your profile
- Degree/HNC/HND in mechanical Engineering or an equivalent vocational qualification
- Several years of detailed experience and understanding of the mechanical systems and building services of critical infrastructure real estate buildings (ideally Data Centre)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a comparable field (Data Centre preferred, e.g. critical infrastructure such as Health (Hospitals), Energy (Power Plants), Chemicals, Civil Nuclear (NPP) or comparable)
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to effectively communicate and manage stakeholders
- Posess initiative with an inquisitive nature and to challenge stakeholders with the appropriate questions for continuous further improvements
- To possess a full clean driving licence valid for use in the UK
- Willingness to travel based on business requirements (probably 10 - 15%)
- To undergo full security checks to BS7858:2019
