HR & Payroll Administrator

As our new HR & Payroll Administrator, you will be a highly organised administrator, working alongside our HR Advisors.  You will be responsible for team administration, maintaining and updating the HR information systems and be the key contact for payroll within the HR function.   The successful candidate will be approachable, patient and conscientious, with the ability to follow robust processes, work to agreed timescales maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.  You will be joining the business at a time when payroll will be moving from an internal process to outsourced providers and therefore the ability to work under both circumstances, supporting the transition, will be necessary.


As HR Administrator, your responsibilities 

  • Assisting the HRBP for Recruitment, (interviews co-ordination, new starter process, right to work and security vetting, HR induction)
  • Administering and maintaining the HR information system (Success Factors),
  • Administering and maintaining rota planning system (Rotacloud)
  • Monitoring the HR inboxes, ticketing system. Distributing and solving queries as required.
  • Engaging directly with employees and managers to resolve queries, escalating to the relevant HRBP when necessary
  • Managing the administration of company benefit schemes; health insurance, pension, life assurance etc
  • Providing support with HR projects
  • Taking notes for HR meetings
  • Responding to reference requests
  • Managing invoicing/PO for the HR Team budget
  • Producing monthly reports for headcount and absence reporting
  • Maintaining accurate records, disciplined filing systems and high standard of correspondence at all times


As Payroll Administrator, your responsibilities

  • Running and checking the relevant reports for absence, changes, starters, leavers and overtime
  • Ensuring errors are kept to a minimum
  • Checking/verifying payroll
  • End to end payroll processing
  • Liaising with department heads for information affecting payroll
  • Payroll calculations and entitlements e.g. holiday pay
  • Payroll administration and answering payroll queries
  • Coordinating and implementing outsourced payroll with the Finance and HR Departments


Your profile

  • Demonstrable payroll experience
  • Demonstrable HR administration experience
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Discretion at all times
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to use initiative and judgement without direct supervision
  • Good numerical and literacy skills and high levels of computer literacy
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage own time effectively
  • Strong implementation and problem-solving ability
  • The ability to follow processes and follow-up with others to completion
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels with good relationship building skills
  • Self-motivated and keen to develop, with a willingness and desire to learn
  • The desire to see projects and tasks through to the end
  • To possess a clean driving licence valid for use in the UK
  • To undergo full security checks to BS7858:2019
