Senior Project Manager Construction (m/f/d)

 As our Senior Project Manager Construction (m/f/d) you will be accountable for the safe delivery of greenfield and brownfield Data Centre projects on a prescribed Campus of the NTT GDC EMEA Frankfurt data centre hub. You will be managing a team of internal and external stakeholders to deliver large Hyperscale Data Centre and Retail Data Centre as well as Infrastructure projects on site.  

Your responsibilities

• Be accountable for strategic planning and execution of NTT Data Centre construction, fit and infrastructure projects on our Frankfurt campus
• Manage, develop and coach a team of internal and external Construction Managers, Project Managers and Design Managers, and General/Subcontractors
• Develop and foster a strong sense of ownership within the campus delivery team and NTT GDC peer stakeholders to drive and maintain industry best practice standards across the campus
• Collaborate with peers in the NTT EHS and Security Organization to implement industry best practice Health, Safety and Security standards onsite
• Coach, measure and manage NTTs appointed professional services and General/Sub-Contractor teams to ensure consistency in delivery against these standards. Ensure appropriate and demand-oriented project sourcing during the delivery and value for money when appointing professional services
• Govern, measure and if required correct project performance against key performance indicators and commitments across Safety, Schedule, Quality and Cost targets
• Drive close stakeholder alignment with the Commercial, Operations and Commissioning Teams, creating a positive and transparent working environment
• Collaborate with peers in Expansion planning and Pre-Construction to ensure NTTs' regulatory and permitting requirements are clearly defined, planned and executed
• Perform general Construction management tasks, including but not limited to Project, Cost and change management meetings, controls and reporting
• Provide timely and accurate reporting of project status to the Senior Regional Construction Program Manager and wider business
• Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks that arise during the projects
• Clearly outline, define and execute construction methodologies from inception to handover on site, continuously seeking and implementing opportunities to learn and improve our end-to-end delivery. Hold effective project reviews during or post-delivery to ensure lessons learned are captured and addressed
• Collaborate with your peers across EMEA to continually assess, align on and improve our delivery methodology
• Continuously monitor, assess and address NTT GDC staff, External Vendor and Contractor performance and have the ability to coach the respective teams and outline objective development opportunities where required
• Align with NTTs pre-sales, sales and commercial teams to continuously assess and implement value add opportunities for our existing and prospective clients

Your profile

• Have experience in a site-based management role within the construction industry, overseeing a portfolio of concurrent capex projects
• Have extensive experience in the planning and delivery of large capex projects, varying delivery methods (Management Contracting, Traditional, D&B) and forms of contract (ie. FIDIC, JCT)
• Demonstrate Data Centre construction experience
• Possess excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to navigate complex and high-pressure environments
• Have experience in presenting to senior leadership both internally and within our client teams
• Have experience in managing and developing direct and vendor teams
• Excellent project management experience and skillset, with the ability to operate within a multi-cultural environment
• Proficient in the use of project and commercial management tools and processes
• Good knowledge of HOAI/RIBA/VOB/CAD/BIM
• Excellent communication skills
• Business fluent in German and English language
