Senior Legal Counsel (Regulatory Affairs) (m/f/d)
As Senior Legal Counsel (Regulatory) you will be part of our NTT Global Data Center EMEA Legal & Governance team. You will be closely working together with the project management team in Expansion projects.
Your responsibilities
- Advising Expansion, Power Management, Design & Engineering and Construction departments on legal aspects in relation to permitting and regulatory requirements for the EMEA footprint (i.e. Germany, England, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Spain and South Africa) – with support from external legal counsel where required
- Advising the Energy Management team on energy law/regulatory requirements
- Negotiating and drafting of Power related agreements (i.e. PPA)
- Drafting and adapting template agreements to up-to-date legal requirements as well as preparing approval request forms, legal memos for the business
- Managing external legal consultants (if required)
- Summarising legal facts as basis for taking commercial and legal decisions
- Conducting internal legal trainings
Your profile
- Qualified German lawyer (Rechtsanwalt) or similar EU-equivalent
- Demonstratable post-qualification experience (in-house or in a law firm) focussing on public law related aspects (especially planning law, energy law)
- High interest in Data Center sector and willing to acquire the relevant knowledge to serve as a true Legal Business Partner
- Experience in administrative law (building permits and ideally BImSchG proceedings) and dealing with large scale construction projects
- German and English business fluent. Ideally additional language: Spanish, Dutch or other.
- Experience in advising, negotiating and managing permit applications together with the Design & Engineering team
- Ability to manage large scale projects
- Enjoy presenting legal facts and cases to non-legal colleagues as well as working on solutions of practical use
- Willingness to travel within EMEA
