Health & Safety Manager (m/f/d)

Specifically, this role as Regional Health, Safety & Quality Manager (m/f/d) sits within the region and will work with a variety of stakeholders at all levels, both centrally and regionally, to implement, maintain and improve health, safety and quality management within operations across the region.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain frameworks to support and enhance the health, safety and quality management within Operations
  • Provide leadership and functional ownership in the region of health, safety and quality performance in order to mitigate regulatory and legal compliance risks
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation across the region through effective and sustainable integrated management system
  • Work closely alongside other regional and central health, safety and quality counterparts to develop, maintain and improve EMEA GDC operational standards
  • Drive consistency, sustainability and effectiveness in the management of health, safety and quality functions and processes that are revised and improved based on leading performance monitoring, audits and external evaluations
  • Lead a programme of audits to measure and report on compliance with health, safety and quality standards across the region and apply GDC reporting formats for comparable transparency
  • Oversee arrangements between DC Delivery and Operations to ensure that safety and quality are correctly transitioned from a project’s construction phase to a live facility
  • Support site personnel during incidents and act as an escalation point where necessary
  • Work closely with Legal and Governance to ensure that the safety provisions are fully aligned with the company’s overarching business risk and compliance activities
  • Support the creation and delivery of internal training programs and subject specific initiatives that complement regional statutory trainings
  • Support Sales and Customer Management with customer requests and attend meetings where necessary
  • Play an integral role in the regional team and provide support and statistics to colleagues to help identify trends and implement improvement plans
  • Maintain a knowledge of industry and regulatory rules, requirements and developments to ensure ongoing compliance and best practice
  • Develop a positive team culture through achievement of results, teamwork, development, accountability, competency and professionalism
  • Promote a culture of compliance, scalability and consistency in partnership with the Tech Ops organisation through EMEA

 

Your profile

  • Several years of relevant Health & Safety experience, ideally within data center or large-scale engineering environments
  • Professional experience in similar role such as Health & Safety (H&S) Manager, Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Manager, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager or comparable
  • A recognised international safety qualification (diploma level or equivalent) 
  • Experience and accredited to audit ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ideally other industry standards
  • NEBOSH diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent)
  • Proven track record of managing Health & Safety functions across multiple countries
  • Demonstrable ability to implement new frameworks, policies and procedures
  • Experience in the implementation or extension of integrated management systems and industry standards
  • Proven track record of managing and leading diverse multi country teams
  • Fluent in English and German, both written and orally
  • Demonstrable skills in leadership, management, and collaboration
  • Strategic thinking individual with a structured and target-oriented approach
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a passion for quality and accuracy
  • Process driven
  • Outstanding relationship-builder and communicator, both internally and externally
  • Ability to work in multinational, interdisciplinary and culturally diverse teams
