Programme Manager Construction Transition (m/f/d)

As our Programme Manager Construction Transition (m/f/d) you will be focused on the coordination and delivery with the primary responsibility of overseeing and working with the construction programme managers to ensure effective handover from construction to operations for all GDC EMEA projects. This responsibility will include but is not limited to interfaces with construction team, client delivery management and Operations to ensure the successful handover of projects to operations and clients.


Your Responsibilities

  • Accountable for defining and implementing NTT GDC EMEAs structure and protocols for Handover of our Data Centre projects from execution into Operational Use
  • Own project and regional planning and reporting of Construction to Operations O&M review and approvals, Training co-ordination, Handover/Walkdown schedules, development and compliance to standardised Handover protocols and checklists  
  • Accountable interface with the GDC EMEA Commercial and Operational Teams, ensuring consistency and formality and structure in expectation an execution of deliverables for each respective project
  • Working with various stakeholders (not limited to the above), develop a best practice NTT Transition Playbook that maps each stage of the transition process that can be rolled out with our delivery partners (GCs and consultant teams)
  • Work with construction, operations & client delivery management teams to report on and prepare business readiness plans inc. tracking of snagging, documentation preparation, and construction closeout across EMEA 
  • Collaborate with Design, Construction and Legal teams identify and report on NTTs planning for and compliance with regulatory approvals, including Building and Environmental permitting to enable building to be put into operation
  • Provide business readiness input to new and existing site delivery including risk reporting to handover, mitigation and optioneering leadership where required. Provide timely, accurate and consistent reporting of all Construction Transition activities across the prescribed projects / programmes
  • Work with the Construction and Scheduling teams to coach external GC’s and delivery partners, plan for and report on handover to operations and clients across the region
  • In conjunction with the safety team, ensure any local safety requirements are captured as part of the transition planning process
  • Clearly outline, define, and execute the transition from Construction to operations and clients from inception to handover, continuously seeking and implementing opportunities to learn and improve our end-to-end delivery
  • Be accountable within the Construction team for driving and inputting into the standardized delivery of major projects including engagement with all relevant stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure successful transition into operation


Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field, Relevant professional certifications
  • Min of 5 years of Data centre experience, preferably in GC, Client or Operational roles encapsulating the lifecycle of a DC development project on site
  • Extensive experience in the delivery and management of construction projects with knowledge of the end-to-end process required to take a project from inception through to handover 
  • Ability to work with peers in a cross-functional and collaborative working environment that can influence from the initial project stages through design and into implementation to deliver on key projects and programmes
  • High personal and professional standard to deliver a high-quality product with a safety mindset
  • Detail and technical orientated professional that displays strong organization and delivery skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to dynamically manage problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills both in planning and delivery stages of a project / programme
  • Knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety and related regulations associated with construction project delivery
  • Demonstrate proven mission critical, preferably Data Centre, construction experience
  • Possess excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to navigate complex and high-pressure environments
  • Have experience in remotely supporting and delivering successful outputs from consultant and project teams
  • Excellent project delivery experience and skillset, with the ability to operate within a multi-cultural environment
