Pre-Construction Scheduler (m/f/d)

The Pre-Construction Scheduler is responsible for establishing reasonable target programmes during the due diligence phase, assessing pre-construction baselines and management of the ongoing progress updates until handing over to the Regional Construction Scheduler. They will be accountable for governing best practice construction scheduling standards and management across all projects in the EMEA region. Direct reports include various Scheduler roles, who are responsible for delivering scheduling services to the project delivery organisation against the agreed EMEA scheduling standard. Where required, the Pre-Construction Scheduler will support the Head of Scheduling in delivering ongoing training to our project delivery teams in scheduling best practice.

 

Your responsibilities 

  • In collaboration with Expansion Management and Pre-Construction team, visit potential new sites and markets to assess regional / project specific constraints, and use our benchmarks and sequencing to develop a high-level programme for the initial business case development
  • Support the procurement of scheduling consultants for the pre-construction phase 
  • Following appointment, provide onboarding and mentoring of new and existing consultant partners of varying degrees of maturity to further develop our supply chain scheduling competency
  • Analyse submitted pre-construction baselines from consultants against EMEA quality, mechanics and content criteria. Where inconsistencies with the required standards are identified, working with the contractor(s) to rectify and provide acceptance of the baseline
  • Ensure the consultants adhere to the reporting cadence and undertake reviews of schedule submissions with the project scheduler to assess pre-construction progress and early warnings
  • Support the pre-construction project team with assessing long lead equipment and material procurement lead times and proposed construction sequencing to maximise efficiency in delivery
  • Ensure the required scheduling specification documents are included within the contractor(s) tender packs and act as a reviewer, alongside the regional construction scheduler, of tender returns
  • Providing the Head of Scheduling summaries of key risks & opportunities on all pre-construction projects within the EMEA region that can then be disseminated to senior leadership
  • Provide support as needed to the project schedulers in conducting time impact assessments of project changes. Where necessary, identify and execute delay mitigation and acceleration opportunities
     

Your profile

  • Hyperscale Data Center project and program management experience
  • Demonstrated experience in applying Critical Path Methodology techniques on hyperscale Data Center construction projects
  • Experience in assessing Data Center commissioning planning templates and trackers
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of Construction Industry standard planning software, such as:  Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and ASTA powerproject
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of Earned Value Management Techniques and Systems
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Power BI and expert use of the MS Office suite
  • Experience in QRA processes and software such as Primavera Risk Analyser or equivalent
  • Strong problem-solving skills and mindset with the ability to lead and influence multi-functional teams
  • Undergo full security checks to BS7858:2019
