Legal Counsel Procurement

As Legal / Senior Legal Counsel EMEA you will be part of our EMEA Legal & Governance team. This role is based either in London or Frankfurt/Main. You will be reporting into the Senior Vice President Legal, Governance & Human Resources • Legal & Governance


Your responsibilities 

  • Supporting the Procurement department with the drafting, review, negotiation and execution of supply contracts such as NDAs, consultancy appointments, standard terms & conditions, security services contracts, maintenance services contracts, major equipment contracts, software platform procurement contracts, lease agreements, construction contracts, novation agreements, etc
  • Drafting, improving, and adapting template agreements to up-to-date legal requirements as well as preparing approval request forms and legal memos for the Procurement department
  • Supporting negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Summarizing legal facts as a basis for taking commercial and legal decisions
  • Management of external counsel
  • Conducting internal legal training

 

Your profile 

  • Qualified lawyer (English qualified solicitor) or German legal qualification
  • Demonstratable post-qualification experience (in-house or in a law firm – in-house experience preferred) of real estate/infrastructure/construction and/or IT/Telco/technology
  • Solid commercial contracts experience
  • Knowledge of commercial real property law or construction law would be an advantage  
  • Experience of German construction projects preferred but not essential
  • Fluent English and German. French and/or Spanish language skills would be beneficial
  • Experience in advising on, negotiating, and executing non-standard supplier contracts
  • Enjoy presenting legal issues to non-legal colleagues as well as working on solutions of practical use 
  • Experience in advising, negotiating, and executing non-standard supplier contracts 
  • Excellent legal and soft skills (drafting, negotiation, analytical, communication, interpersonal, commercial acumen, etc.)
  • Ability to work in multinational, interdisciplinary and culturally diverse teams
  • Adaptable, enthusiastic and self-starter 
  • Poise and very good communication skills
  • Structured thinker and worker, accountable personality good organization skills, being proactive with a high degree of flexibility 
  • High degree of reliability, precision, and diligence
  • Open minded and interested in gaining an understanding (or improving knowledge) of the operational/technical aspects of data centres
