IT Data Center Infrastructure Engineer (m/f/d)

As our IT Data Center Infrastructure Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring that the IT delivers standardized systems and platforms for a stable, secure and efficient infrastructure for the Data Centers and other buildings. 

Your responsibilities 

• Supports the definition of IT standards for the areas of network, racks, cabling and construction requirements.
• Supports the implementation according to the standard
• Performing on site control of construction sites in all relevant phases
• Supports the management of purchasing as well as external suppliers
• Responsibility for adherence to schedules, especially timely ordering, and delivery.
• Reporting of status, projects, issues etc. to IT and Management.
• Further development of the existing IT architecture
• Acting coordinating interface especially but not limited to the named departments in purpose above
• Consult the business in the respective IT areas to identify best IT solutions to enhance business capabilities
• Management of group internal and external IT service providers and specialist groups
• Evaluation, coordination, and processing of change requests including demand management in those areas
• Continuous improvement of existing processes and input in the definition of new processes
• Acting Project Manager within own area for bigger projects 
• Strong collaboration with Procurement Team to identify cost efficiency opportunities
• Processing incidents and service requests in the ticket system (2nd level support)
• Participation in on-call duties

Your Profile 

• Completed vocational training with a focus on computer science or equivalent work experience
• Professional experience in the area of network and Data Center infrastructure or equivalent
• Proficient German and English language skills verbal and writing
• Ability to quickly tap into and master new areas of responsibility
• Enforcement and persuasiveness
• High commitment and willingness to travel (<60%)
• Excellent Communication and presentation skills 
• Strategic thinking individual with a structured and target-oriented approach
• A passion for listening to stakeholders and customers and a world-class service mentality
