Head of Commissioning EMEA (m/f/d)

As Head of Commissioning EMEA, you will work with data center engineers, construction managers and data center operations teams to improve delivery of data center capacity. You shall be responsible for ensuring that projects are commissioned in accordance with our standards and directly manage the process for projects in the EMEA region. Specifically, you will be a member of the Central Engineering team within Tech-Ops and will report to the Director Engineering Tech-Ops EMEA.


Your responsibilities 

  • Lead the commissioning teams (internal & external) responsible for verification, the function testing of systems and hardware, and assisting operations in a safe handover
  • Ensure that system commissioning procedures are developed, approved, and finalized, and that they include the appropriate content and detail to assure safe and thorough commissioning
  • Identify and coordinate the resources to define and manage the commissioning scope of work
  • Carry out commission ability reviews to minimize the commissioning schedule
  • Ensure that the project scope is divided up into systems that are defined to support ease of commissioning and develop system and sub-system list in order of priority
  • Ensure systems are validated to meet performance specifications
  • Review all commissioning elements of the Operation & Maintenance Manuals 
  • Issue a Commissioning Final Report summarizing the project, outstanding items (if any), and provide assurance for final sign-off
  • Provide support and training to commissioning personnel, ensuring personnel are competent and possess the required skills and tools 
  • Hold post-handover project lessons learnt meetings to understand what went well and any areas of improvement found

Your profile

  • Several years of experience working in mission critical environment within a large company, IT/Telecoms industry preferred
  • Several years of experience in leading a commissioning function in a mission critical environment 
  • Major installation/construction project management experience
  • Experience of working in a European multi-cultural environment
  • Working Knowledge of Plan Do Check Act (Deming cycle) highly desirable
  • Recognized European Health and Safety Qualification highly desirable
  • Proficient in English and German language both written and verbal 
  • A strategic thinking individual with a structured and target-oriented approach
  • Demonstrable skills in technical management, and collaboration.
  • Ability to work in multinational, interdisciplinary and culturally diverse teams
  • Modern leadership style and excellent leadership skill set
